About us...

A small hotel , with a charm and homemade flavour. The building, built at the beginning of the 16th century by Juan de Vargas, has hosted one of the largest lineages of the history of Villanueva de los Infantes, such as The Bustos or The Fernandez Buenache families. We bought it in 2002 and, after almost three years of restoration, we finally open it to the public in March 2005. We have respected and restored the original ornamental elements of the house, pallets of centenary Sabine, coffered ceilings. We have also discovered some columns that had been bricked up or the impressive well in the entrance.

The hotel has seven double rooms, six of them on the higher floor and one on the ground floor, ideal for people with reduced mobility. The rooms have been named after the Muses of the Spanish Parnassus, paying homage to the famous Don Francisco de Quevedo, the famous writer from Madrid who died in Infantes in 1648 and whose destinies would remain forever united. Excellently located, from its balconies you can contemplate the astonishing Plaza Mayor and the majestic San Andres Parish. And without picking up the car again you can stroll around the historic center.

La Morada de Juan Vargas has been awarded The Tripadvisor Certificate in Excellence three consecutive years ( 2013/2014/2015), Travelers Prize 2014 and it has been considered one of the Tripadvisor Choice (12th best hotel in Spain in relation quality/price)

We work under the methodology of “Q for Quality Tourism” since 2006. Mention Award Winner 2015 of Booking.com- with a score of 9.5 out of 10.

Recommended by Guia Michelin and the prestigious Lonely Planet Guide. This work of restoration to bring our hotel into operation, as well as the continuous work during these years has been done thinking only about you and your comfort, with the hope you feel at home among us.
